Mission, History and Future Plans

ReStore Phone Number: 304-HABITAT (304-422-4828)

Mission

The mission of the Habitat ReStore is threefold:

  • To provide additional funding to support Habitat for Humanity‚Äôs housebuilding mission;
  • To expand opportunities to serve a broader base of the community by providing low cost materials; and
  • To provide good stewardship of sustainable resources in the community.

History and Future Plans

Wood County Habitat for Humanity has operated a ReStore since 2001, starting out with a few items and gradually expanding. Because of the generosity of the community, including individuals as well as retail businesses, we have grown enough to need a bigger facility and have relocated to 1448 7th Street.

Grand opening of the new ReStore was held on Saturday, November 14. Our new location is three times bigger than our original ReStore at 615 Elder Street, and will make it possible for us to accept and sell more donated materials than ever before. The location at 615 Elder Street is now closed.
